We All Need a Helping Hand
I believe that people grow through relationships. In the therapeutic relationship, it is the connection and comfort level between the client and the therapist that facilitates growth and change.
Life can be challenging and we all have experienced loss, disappointments and trauma, both large and small. These may have caused us to feel depressed or anxious or lead to feelings of inadequacy. In order to overcome these self-defeating, life-limiting thoughts and feelings, and to grow emotionally, we all need a guiding hand to teach us how to heal and grow. My goal is to provide you with that guiding hand within a safe, respectful and nurturing environment, where you are free to share your feelings.
I will help you identify your strengths, increase your ability to access these strengths and provide you with the skills to build on them, while being an active participant in your journey towards healing and growth.
I have discovered that EMDR is a wonderful tool to facilitate this process. I enjoy sharing EMDR with my clients and supporting them as they regain and develop the ability to live an emotionally satisfying life. In addition to EMDR I have special training in the area of trauma, grief and loss, working with parents with young children, families with children with special needs and helping parents become the best parents they can be.
